Clement Nwankwo, the Executive Director of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), has asserted that Nigeria’s judiciary is in a state of disarray.

Nwankwo expressed this view on Wednesday during an interview on the Politics Today program aired on Channels Television.

“I stand here as a lawyer who has been taught that the law is the last refuge of the common man. However, today, the courts are ineffective. If you have a grievance, whether as a plaintiff or a complainant, you may find yourself entangled in court for up to 20 years.

“I am not referring to political cases. If it were a political matter, my concern would be whether judges are being influenced or compromised by politicians. In truth, our judiciary is in a state of collapse,” he stated.
