The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, claims that the Nigerian government is intentionally undermining democracy in the country.

Tanko made this assertion on Monday during an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST.

He called on the international community to intervene and address the situation before democracy in Nigeria is completely eroded.

“The government of Nigeria is intentionally undermining democracy. The international communities need to step in and address this issue,” he stated.

“Nigeria is the most populous Black nation in the world, and if its democracy is compromised, it will have repercussions for others as well.”

“Just because you are currently in power does not mean you should repeat the mistakes of those who came before you, as those mistakes do not contribute to the growth of the system.”

“However, I must also acknowledge that we have a majority of individuals in government, and democracy is widely regarded as the best form of governance at present, despite the processes that make it appear quite flawed and wholly unacceptable in Nigeria,” he remarked.
