AN NHS doctor has been charged with supporting Hamas and stirring up racial hatred.
Rahmeh Aladwan, 31, has been charged with “multiple counts of inviting support for Hamas”, the Metropolitan Police said.
The doctor, of Pilning, South Gloucestershire was cuffed at her home this morning for breaching bail conditions from a previous arrest.
She has been charged with using words “that were threatening, abusive or insulting intending thereby to stir up racial hatred” on July 21 last year.
Aladwan is also accused of publishing or distributing “written material that was threatening, abusive or insulting intending thereby to stir up racial hatred” on November 19 last year.
On July 23, August 23, October 7 and December 31, the NHS worker allegedly invited support for proscribed organisation Hamas.
The charges of inviting support for a proscribed organisation relate to comments or other material posted online.
Aladwan has been remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
