A migrant followed an asylum hotel employee to a train station and then stabbed her 23 times with a screwdriver, a murder trial revealed.
Rhiannon Skye Whyte, 27, was left to bleed to death following the tragic event at Bescot Stadium train station in Walsall.

The mother had just completed a shift at the Park Inn by Radisson hotel, where Deng Chol Majek had been staying, jurors were informed.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that Majek, 19, was captured on CCTV following Rhiannon before she was heard screaming during a phone call with a friend.
Prosecutor Michelle Heeley KC stated: “He followed her onto the train platform at Bescot Stadium station and then attacked her, stabbing her repeatedly with a screwdriver.
“He left her to bleed to death and then casually returned to his hotel. We assert that you can be certain he is guilty of murder.”
Jurors learned that the national bought a drink from a nearby shop and disposed of Rhiannon’s phone in a river.
He was later observed “dancing and laughing, clearly exhilarated by his actions” back at the hotel, it was reported.
The court was informed that Rhiannon had worked at the hotel for approximately three months, assisting with tasks such as cleaning and serving meals.
On October 20 of the previous year, one of her colleagues noticed Majek “staring at Rhiannon and the women she was working with,” the prosecutor mentioned.
Ms. Heeley added: “No one could recall any specific incident that would have prompted him to act in that manner. There had been a minor issue regarding some broken biscuits among the residents, but nothing serious.
“What is evident from the CCTV footage is that the defendant was lingering around the reception area, watching Rhiannon throughout the evening.
“He changed into a distinctive jacket and sandals and then waited around the reception area where Rhiannon was present.”
Jurors heard that once Rhiannon left to head home at 11 PM, Majek followed her.
Ms. Heeley added: “He had been loitering, waiting for her to leave, and waited until she was alone before he followed her.”
At 11:04 PM, Rhiannon called a friend and was recorded on CCTV, with Majek captured two minutes later.
He then “closed the distance” to 90 seconds and then 30 seconds as she reached the deserted platform at 11:13 PM, the court heard.
The prosecutor stated: “It was at this moment that the prosecution claims this defendant attacked her. Rhiannon had been conversing with her friend.
“However, it went silent before (the friend) heard a scream, followed by another scream. The call ended at 11:19 PM.
“Shortly after that, this defendant was seen running back up the stairs from the platform. He was holding an object that was illuminated in his hand – it was Rhiannon’s mobile phone.”
Rhiannon’s friend called for help after hearing the screams and also notified the hotel, which dispatched an employee to the station.
The train Rhiannon was supposed to catch arrived at 11:24 PM, and the driver noticed a figure slumped on the platform.
Ms. Heeley continued: “The guard attempted to assist Rhiannon, as did the employee who had come from the hotel. Unfortunately, she was too severely injured, and nothing could be done to save her.
“She passed away on October 23, having never regained consciousness.”
Majek denies the charges of murder and possessing a screwdriver as an offensive weapon.
The trial is ongoing.
