Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has labeled Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as a habitual defector who is likely to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the 2027 general elections.
In a post shared on his social media on Tuesday, Olayinka claimed that Makinde undermined Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State in order to position himself as the sole PDP governor in the South-West region.
Olayinka stated: “In 2007, he (Makinde) left the PDP for the ANPP because he was unsuccessful in securing a senatorial ticket.
“In 2015, he departed from the PDP to join the SDP due to his failure to obtain a governorship ticket.
“In 2019, had he not received the PDP ticket for governorship, he would have switched to another party.
“In 2023, he allied with the PDP G5 Governors to ensure his reelection.
“He is Governor Seyi Makinde, and undoubtedly after 2027, he will align himself with a different party.
“In 2022, he actively worked against Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State to guarantee that he remained the only PDP Governor in the South-West.
“The Ibadan Gomina General has never shown loyalty to anyone or any political party; he is solely focused on his own interests.
“If you have any doubts, you can ask Hon Mulikat Adeola, Hon Muraina, HE Hazeem Gbolarumi, Olopoeeyan, Auxiliary, Senator Hosea Agboola (Alleluyah), and others.”
