IN the midst of navigating one of his hardest periods off the pitch, Leandro Trossard managed to show up on it and help fire Arsenal to the league title.
Trossard sparked into life when it mattered most for the Gunners as they won their first Premier League title in 22 years, despite dealing with the breakup of his marriage throughout the campaign.

“This was not a choice made lightly. In fact we have been separated for some time now, and during that period we have taken the space and time needed to navigate this privately and thoughtfully.”
For Trossard, his marriage turmoil was bubbling in the background while he was trying to help over the line in their pursuit of glory.
Despite that being the backdrop to his campaign, the 31-year-old showed complete professionalism, pushing through adversity to create one of the biggest moments in Arsenal’s season.

That 87th-minute winner against West Ham was the moment that Arsenal truly started to believe they would get over the line this time, following three consecutive second-place finishes.
But it was also Trossard’s first goal in 2026, coming after a difficult period on the pitch that coincided with the troubles in his private life.
In the first half of the campaign, many Arsenal fans would have told you that Trossard was a front-runner for player of the season.
The £27m man had racked up seven goals and provided six assists by the end of December and played a crucial part in wins over the likes of , Tottenham and .
Arsenal boss was naming Trossard in his starting XI for most games up until the turn of the year, but a drop in form around the festive period meant that his minutes dried up in 2026.
With the hindsight of his off the pitch struggles, it is easy to see why Trossard may not have been able to keep that exceptional form going consistently.

But when Arteta needed to change things up for the crucial matches at the end of the campaign, he knew he could call on Trossard to step up.
Trossard started every Arsenal game in May across both the Premier League and the , helping tee the Gunners up for what would be a historic Double.
The winger, who was last week named in the team for the World Cup this summer, has transformed Arsenal’s attack across those games too, making them far more technically sound.
Gunners legend named him as one of the best players on the pitch for , while Gooners have been singing his name from the stands.
When Arsenal’s players carried out their lap of appreciation around the Emirates Stadium pitch on Monday, many of the squad were accompanied by their partners and their children on the sidelines. Trossard was not.
Instead, the former Brighton ace completed the lap of honour with his teammates before heading over to the crowd to sign his shirt and give it to a fan who had travelled from Japan just to see him play.
In every title-winning side there is often a player who pops up as an unexpected contributor to guarantee the silverware.
For this Arsenal side that could well be Trossard, despite the Arsenal No19 dealing with so much in his personal life away from the pitch.
