JEREMY Clarkson’s beloved daughter Emily Clarkson shared a heartfelt post after her famous dad revealed he’d been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

, 66, that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of the cancer.

Emily posted a black and white photo cuddling her dad and also a quote from his recent interview with the Sunday Times to a post on Instagram.

His quote read: “This is why I have to say to everybody who’s reading this, please, please, please go and get checked.

“It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. And it’s a no-brainer. I did, and that’s why I’m sitting here talking to you.”

Instead of writing a caption she tagged her dad and Prostate Cancer UK in the moving post.

A number of people then shared their experiences with the disease in the comments.

I lost my dad 7 weeks ago to prostate cancer. I’m so pleased @jeremyclarkson1 is spreading awareness to get checked. I will wish forever that my dad did,” wrote one person.

Another added: “Absolutely sooo important to get checked… My dad got checked a few years ago because all his friends were, he thought meh may as well do the test! He had no symptoms but turned out he did have prostate cancer. Catching it early can be life saving, he’s now fine after treatment, but so SO important to get checked!!!”

What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?

Symptoms of prostate cancer can include:

  • needing to pee more frequently, often during the night
  • needing to rush to the toilet
  • difficulty in starting to pee (hesitancy)
  • straining or taking a long time while peeing
  • weak flow
  • feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully
  • blood in urine or blood in semen

A silver lining of Jeremy’s diagnosis, was that the spiked since he revealed his cancer battle.

Prostate Cancer UK confirmed that in the hours following the Clarkson’s Farm episode 16,749 men took their online risk checker.

That was the highest figure since former Prime Minister , 59, revealed last year that he’d also had .

The organisation also had – the highest of the year so far and double the number they’d normally receive.
