Jamie Redknapp Issues Live Apology to Lord Sugar on Sky Sports Following Apprentice Star's Legal Threat Over Spurs Remarks

JAMIE REDKNAPP has apologised to Lord Alan Sugar after he threatened to sue the pundit over comments relating to his time as Spurs owner.

The former and midfielder was speaking on Sky Sports about chairman ‘s surprising exit last month when he claimed that Lord Sugar left the club in a “total mess.”

On 13th September Jamie Redknapp stated on Sky Sports that I left Tottenham ‘in a mess’ when I sold the club to Daniel Levy.

The business magnate, who part-owned Spurs between 1991 and 2001, that read: “ is a double barrel idiot. He talks a load of rubbish.

“He said when Daniel Levy took over Spurs Alan Sugar left the club in a right mess.

“He and SKY will be hearing from my lawyers Monday.”

Three weeks later, it appears that goings on behind the scenes have sparked the presenter into making an apology on Sky’s Friday Night .

said: “I said at the time that Lord Sugar had left the club ‘in a mess’.

“I just want to make clear that he stabilised the club and invested heavily during his time as chairman.

“When he took over in 1991 Spurs were close to bankruptcy, and by the time he stepped away the financial position had significantly turned around.

“And with the money he put into the team and the facilities, I apologise to Lord Sugar and his family for all the misunderstanding and any harm caused, and am more than happy to set the record straight.”

, 78, uploaded his own video of Redknapp’s apology to his social media account on Friday, accompanied by a statement revealing the pundit had also made a donation to a charity as part of his reparations.

The statement read: “On 13th September Jamie Redknapp stated on that I left Tottenham ‘in a mess’ when I sold the club to Daniel Levy.

“Tonight, during Sky’s v coverage, Redknapp has made a full apology and has retracted this false allegation.

“Also, by way of a further apology, a donation of £10,000 has been made to Great Ormond Street Hospital.”

fans will hope the chaos between their former figures is not distracting from the players’ job on the pitch.

They travel to face on Saturday as they look to reel in their North London rivals , with the Gunners currently just two points ahead.
