When his deal at Villa ends on June 30, – unless something changes.

That is less than a month after the Europa League final is set to be played – against Freiburg in Istanbul.

Despite this, he could lift a European trophy for the second season in a row having won the Conference League with Chelsea IN 2024-25 under Enzo Maresca.

Before that he was an unlikely finalist at barely five months after leaving United in the 2024 January window.

Sancho started and played 87 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to at having impressed in the knockout rounds.

That helped him get a lifeline in at Chelsea, where he played 41 times across last season, scoring five (two in the Conference League).

Chelsea and Sancho were always expected to pick up a winners medal in that competition and Sancho was a regular in the ‘B-team’ which played most matches.

Although he was rested for the group phase – when academy kids and unwanted players were mostly used – he was more central the knockouts again.

Villa will have fancied themselves to go the distance in the Europa here as well.

And Sancho’s European fortunes may well help him find another team this summer, especially if they are on board with good omens and the Euro luck he appears to bring.
