IRAN has threatened to unleash fanatical Houthi bloodhounds on a second major trade route and cripple the world economy if Donald Trump launches a bold ground invasion.

The reeling regime has continued its iron grip of the Strait of Hormuz, peppering the vital 24-mile waterway with , paralysing international trade and sending fuel costs sky-high.

But now the devious mullahs have promised to turn up the heat by shutting off the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a critical chokepoint to trade between and Asia.

The strait serves over a tenth of global seaborne trade and – given that 20 per cent of the world’s supply has already been cut off via the Strait of Hormuz – could spell disaster for international commerce.

A blockade would effectively mean that nearly half of all maritime trade would be at the whim of the sadistic IRGC.

The Bab al-Mandab Strait sits strategically at the mouth of the Red Sea, which connects Asia to Europe via the Suez Canal.

It serves as the primary route for nearly 10million barrels of oil a day, along with boatloads of essential natural , goods and food.

It comes as…

Murderous Houthis in terrifying rebel camps line the Yemeni coast along the strait, putting oil tankers in a precarious position.

A military source told Iranian state TV that the regime has kept a blockade of the waterway as a trick up its sleeve.

“If the Americans want to think of a solution for the Strait of Hormuz with foolish actions, they should be careful not to add another strait to their problems and dilemmas,” they said.

“If the enemy wants to take any action on the ground in the Iranian islands or anywhere else in our territories, we will open other fronts as a surprise for them so that their action doubles their costs.

“ is fully prepared to escalate the situation.

“If the enemy has doubts and no wisdom to learn from its experiences, it can test us again.”

Houthi missiles unleashed terror on Israeli vessels in the strait in late 2023.

By March, 40 ships had been attacked and over 2,000 had diverted routes away from the Red Sea.

And Trump as part of a growing military presence.

Despite this, the US president handed his Iranian counterpart a 15-point peace plan.

Trump said yesterday that he is talking to the “right people” in and “they want to make a deal so badly”.

But Iranian military bosses claimed the US was talking to itself.

Spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari addressed the country in a video message, asking: “Has the level of your internal conflict reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?”

He said: “You will see neither your investments in the region nor the former prices of and again, until you understand that stability in the region is guaranteed by the powerful hand of our armed forces.”

The Iranian official doubled down on denying negotiating with Trump, adding that “someone like us will never come to terms with someone like you. Not now, not ever”.

What is included in the 15-point plan?

Israel's Channel 12 has specified what 14 of the 15 demands and benefits for Iran include...

  1. Iran must dismantle its entire nuclear programme.
  2. Iran must make a binding commitment never to develop nuclear weapons.
  3. All uranium enrichment on Iranian soil must cease.
  4. Iran must transfer its stockpile of roughly 450kg of 60% enriched uranium to the International Atomic Energy Agency under an agreed timetable.
  5. The nuclear facilities at Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo must be decommissioned.
  6. The UN’s nuclear watchdog must be granted unrestricted access, full transparency and continuous oversight within Iran.
  7. Iran must abandon its system of regional proxy influence.
  8. Iran must end all funding, direction and arming of proxy groups across the region.
  9. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open and operate as a free and secure maritime corridor.
  10. Iran’s missile programme must be strictly limited in range and scale, with defined thresholds agreed in due course.
  11. Any future missile use must be confined strictly to self-defence.
  12. Iran would receive the full lifting of all international sanctions.
  13. The United States would support the development of Iran’s civilian nuclear programme, including electricity generation at the Bushehr plant.
  14. The ‘snapback’ mechanism – allowing for the automatic reimposition of sanctions in the event of non-compliance – would be permanently removed.
