IRAN is using the temporary ceasefire to dig out missile launchers that were buried by Donald Trump’s huge bombardments of the rogue nation earlier in the war.

Shocking satellite photos reveal the ruthless regime will not rest during Trump’s pause in bombing and is instead using the truce to clear the way to its underground missile bases.

It comes as Iran threatens to unleash its Houthi proxy to block a second critical chokepoint for global trade – the Bab al-Mandab Strait, also known as the Gate of Tears.

The Gate of Tears is a crucial global shipping artery leading to the Suez Canal – around 10 per cent of all global trade passes through the strait at the mouth of the Red Sea.

The US is enforcing a blockade on Iranian-linked ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz – although some ships seemed to have slipped through in the first 24 hours, the Americans insisted the vessels then complied with orders to stop or turn around.

The bases were strategically targeted by US and Israeli blitzes that blocked their entrances and exits.

It was part of a plan to trap Iran’s missile launchers underground.

But now the rogue nation is using the time allotted for peace talks to clear debris from the bases.

Satellite pictures show rubble being scooped up and loaded onto trucks to unblock entrances at bases in Tabriz and Khomeyn.

It comes as the US is piling more troops into the region after imposing a blockade on ships visiting Iranian ports in the Gulf.

The US blockade is a response to the Iranians refusing to reopen the Strait.

Trump also declared that the Iran war is “close to over” – hinting at talks in the next two days.
