A WOMAN whose tongue measures 3.8 inches long – from the tip to her lips – has revealed people scream in horror whenever she sticks it out.
California resident Chanel Tapper, 34, has held the record for the longest female tongue in the world since 2010.
She said in an interview with the earlier this year that she enjoys seeing people’s reactions to the lengthy organ.
“Honestly, the best reaction I could ever get when someone sees my tongue is screaming,”; Chanel chuckled.
“I actually do like when people yell or scream in shock, or horror sometimes.
“But that’s probably my favorite one because it’s funny to me because it’s a dramatic response,”; she added.
Having such a lengthy tongue means Chanel can also do a bunch of odd things – and crazy .
Some of these include flipping cups, removing blocks and even holding up a spoon by curling her tongue around the utensil.
The 34-year-old was given her Guinness World Records title after the organization invited her to get her tongue measured at a event in 2010.
According to the young woman, she was around the age of 11 when she developed the habit of sticking her tongue in response to people being wowed by its length.
Later down in line, Chanel previously told First News, she found herself on their radar after going viral.
A study by the University of Edinburgh’s dental school found that the average woman’s tongue length is 3.1 inches, while men’s tongues are around 3.3 inches, according toHealthline.
Chanel had two close competitors when the Guinness World Records awarded her in 2010 – but she has remained unbeatable since.
The unique title has given her a variety of opportunities, including starring in an advertising campaign for the popular fashion brand Diesel.
“My favorite thing about being a record holder has to be when I get to travel and meet other record holders as well,”; she told Guinness.
“It’s fun, and of course, I get to see the parts of the world I’ve never seen before.”;
But while Chanel holds the record for the longest female tongue, Brittany Lacayo, from Houston,, has a huge tongue that .
Her tongue is so massive that it’s almost the same width as a credit card and she is often pictured balancing heavy snacks on it.
The lawyer, who runs her own firm, can hold up to four lollipops in her mouth as well as grip onto a large chocolate bar.
Brittany decided to measure her tongue against the previous winner who boasted a width of 7.3cm.
She found that her tongue measures an astonishing 7.90cm – or 3.11 inches – at its widest point.
Stunned, she immediately got in contact withGuinnessand was awarded the World’s Widest Tongue title.
Brittany said: “When I show people my tongue, most are just shocked and laugh.
“I get funny questions but I eat and drink like everyone else and it has never caused me any problems.”;
