Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has commended the resilience, dedication, and professionalism of the Rivers State workforce, particularly amid ongoing challenges to democratic governance in the state.

In a message of solidarity to mark Workers’ Day 2025, Governor Fubara praised the unwavering commitment of workers, describing it as “the backbone of the state’s development and beacon of hope for a better future.”;

According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara noted that this year’s theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,”; highlights the growing need to safeguard the workforce in the face of escalating environmental threats and socio-political uncertainties.

He emphasized the critical importance of occupational safety and well-being as foundational to sustainable development.

Governor Fubara also acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in championing labour reforms and promoting climate-conscious policies that foster a safer and healthier working environment across the nation.

He expressed deep appreciation to workers in Rivers State who, despite political instability and governance disruptions, continue to exhibit exceptional patriotism, integrity, and dedication to their duties.

He stated that their sacrifices remain fundamental to the state’s continued stability and progress.

Reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, Governor Fubara urged all employers, both in the public and private sectors, to uphold labour laws and protect the rights and dignity of all workers.
