Paris Saint-Germain have suffered a major blow ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg tie with Arsenal on Tuesday.

This comes after the French Ligue 1 champions released a statement on Friday confirming that their top forward, Ousmane Dembele sustained a hamstring injury during Tuesday’s Champions League win over Arsenal.

“Ousmane Dembele has strained his right hamstring,”; a statement on PSG’s official website read.

“His condition is progressing well. A further assessment will be carried out shortly.”;

PSG already have one foot in the Champions League final after emerging from the first leg with a narrow 1-0 victory against the Premier League North London club.

Dembele scored the goal for Luis Enrique’s side at Emirates Stadium.

PSG will host Arsenal in the return leg at Parc des Prince on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PSG manager Luis Enrique confirmed after the first leg encounter that

“It’s nothing serious, it’s quite minor, but there is a doubt for the return match,”; the Spaniard said at his post-match interview.
