JTBC’s upcoming drama “Good Boy”; has unveiled new posters featuring its cast!
“Good Boy”; is a comic action drama that follows a group of former national athletes Yoon Dong Joo (Park Bo Gum), Ji Han Na (Kim So Hyun), Kim Jong Hyun (Lee Sang Yi), Go Man Sik (Heo Sung Tae), and Shin Jae Hong (Tae Won Suk)—who become police officers through a special recruitment program. Swapping medals for badges, they take on a world full of corruption, deception, and injustice.
Former boxing gold medalist-turned-police officer Yoon Dong Joo was demoted to a lower rank after a series of accidents. Starting fresh from the bottom, his character embodies the saying, “I never retreat.”; Though rough around the edges, he has a deep, passionate heart and an unexpected, strong determination. The cool, steady blue backdrop, his bandaged hands, and his blood-and sweat-streaked face remind viewers of the intense struggles he endured in the ring. His intense gaze reflects his unwavering pride and stubbornness.
Park Bo Gum described his character, saying, “Yoon Dong Joo, driven by a burning sense of justice, doesn’t allow any room for escape. He’s a bulldozer who punishes lowly injustice,”; highlighting the character’s fierce spirit.
Former Olympic shooting gold medalist and current Special Forces corporal Ji Han Na, once dubbed the“Goddess of Shooting,”; shows sharp focus as she grips a shotgun and aims at her target. Beneath her cold stare is a calm, determined attitude shaped by real-world experience. The tension in the air, like the quiet before pulling the trigger, is unmistakable.
Kim So Hyun described Ji Han Na as a radar with a heart that burns with red passion, even though she remains cool-headed. Unmoved by emotions, Ji Han Na analyzes situations carefully, stays focused on her target, and makes precise, well-thought-out decisions.
Kim Jong Hyun, a former fencing silver medalist, is a skilled inspector on the Special Forces team with sharp intelligence and quick reflexes. His neat appearance and intense gaze reflect how he relied on precise, calculated movements to win.
Lee Sang Yi described Kim Jong Hyun as a strict, logical perfectionist, comparing him to glasses with a crack. As his character Kim Jong Hyun, he explained, “The crack may be risky, but I can’t easily give up these glasses because they fit me best. With these glasses, I’ll stay true to my path,”; showing the character’s strong convictions.
Former national wrestling team member Go Man Sik, known for his toughness and perseverance, now leads the Special Forces team as captain. As a veteran detective, the worn detective jacket suits him better than a wrestling singlet. His serious expression reflects a leader more familiar with coordination and patience than with fighting. Like the adaptable yellow color that blends with anything, Go Man Sik acts as the unifying force and coordinator for his strong-willed team.
Heo Sung Tae described Go Man Sik as a father figure, saying, “He may be fearful and anxious at times, but in the end, he’s a remarkable and respected person who pushes forward for the sake of his family and colleagues.”;
Shin Jae Hong, a former national discus thrower, shows a surprising charm with his playful expression, which contrasts with his imposing physique. While he initially follows the simple belief that strength equals justice, he becomes a detective focused on survival, balancing the need to support his family with his job decisions.
Tae Won Suk described him as representing the pine tree of the pure green image. “His consistency and steadfastness, always staying in place with his team, reflect that,”; he said. Though he may seem to step back at times, the moment when he unleashes his power in a critical situation is highly anticipated.
Meanwhile, Min Joo Young (Oh Jung Se) hides a sinister side as the biggest villain in the story, masking his true nature behind his role as an ordinary customs officer. Unlike the other characters, his black poster features an “X”; sign instead of a sports pictogram, creating an unsettling vibe. The poster shows all five characters facing one direction, while Min Joo Young is turned the opposite way, visually highlighting the sharp contrast between those who try to catch him and those who try to escape.
Reflecting on Min Joo Young’s line, “I don’t really remember,”; Oh Jung Se said, “Through this, I wanted to reflect the monsters that live among us. We must remember these monsters, punish them, and keep them in check.”; He emphasized his goal of exposing the harsh reality of evil.
