The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has overturned the red card issued to Ikorodu City player Kelechi Onwe during their last match against Akwa United.

The player’s red card has been downgraded to a yellow card, making him available for Ikorodu City’s next fixture against Bayelsa United.

The NPFL disclosed this in a statement sent to the club on Monday.

Part of the statement read, “The official report of the referee indicates the disciplinary measures taken against the under-listed player of your team.

“However, following your appeal and subsequent review of the incident, the following decision was reached: Kelechi Onwe’s red card on Matchday 35 overturned and stepped down to yellow card, player now available for selection.”;

Ikorodu City will face Bayelsa United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Wednesday.
