Nigerian athlete, Favour Ofili, has made history as the fastest woman 150m straight track runner.

The Port Harcourt-born broke the world record on Saturday, at the 150m Adidas Atlanta City Games.

The 22-year-old emerged the first woman to ever run 150m in 16 seconds, against the previous record of 16.23 seconds set in 2018 by Shaunae Miller-Uibo.

Reacting to her victory during the post-race interview, Ofili said “The Lord is good and is marvellous in my sight. I am surprised with the time. But I know I put in the work, I trust my coach, I trust his program, and I know at the right time the Lord would do it”;;.

DAILY POST reports that in2023, Ofili set an African record in 200m with a time of 22.36 seconds at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her new feet has placed her on a global athletics map.
