Natasha: Group urges security agencies to investigate Sandra Duru

Published on May 09, 2025 at 06:35 PM

A group, Nigerians Against Fraud Initiative, NAFI, has urged security agencies to investigate the activities of United Kingdom-based activist, Sandra Duru, also known as Professor Mgbeke.

Duru came into the spotlight recently after she claimed that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan allegedly attempted to induce her with N200 million to falsely accuse the former Akwa Ibom governor of organ harvesting.

Although Senator Natasha has since denied the allegation, it has continued to generate mixed reactions.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday, NAFI accused Duru of fabricating false narratives to inflame the crisis in the Senate, while allegedly acting as a mercenary for powerful politicians.

While calling her activism into question, the group, in the statement jointly signed by Nze Clifford Umunna JP (National Coordinator) and Mallam Buni Abubakar (Secretary General), called on security agencies to investigate Duru’s activities.

NAFI also revealed plans to “petition the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and other international agencies, seeking Duru’s deportation.”;

The group reaffirmed its support for Akpoti-Uduaghan and other female politicians in her mould, describing them as women of “unassailable integrity.”;

NAFI also said it “aligned with respected figures like Dr. Oby Ezekwesili and the International Association of Female Lawyers, FIDA, on the matter.”;
