The Kebbi State Government has restated its unwavering commitment to enhancing internal security operations across the state, particularly in the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality.
Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida gave the assurance on Monday when he received officers from the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, who were on a study tour of the state.
While commending the Nigerian Army for its sacrifices in maintaining peace and tackling insurgency, terrorism, and armed banditry, Senator Tafida reiterated the state government’s readiness to collaborate with security agencies to sustain peace.
He described Kebbi as a state rich in agriculture and solid minerals, noting that it remains Nigeria’s leading producer of rice and wheat.
He said the government was exploring avenues of partnership with the Army to strengthen security and harness the state’s economic potential.
Earlier, the leader of the visiting team, Group Captain D.E. Daniel, said the visit was part of the school’s research tour aimed at evaluating security dynamics in selected states.
He noted that Kebbi was chosen for its strategic importance and expressed appreciation for the state’s hospitality.
He added that the team was also engaging various security stakeholders to better understand the challenges and recommend practical solutions.
