The Writer’s Block hitmaker, whose real name Jack Christopher Allsopp, was joined by a guitarist as he belted the tune out.
One passerby shared the clip on TikTok and wrote: “Just Jack pulls up.”;
Many fans were left gobsmacked by the star’s rare appearance.
One wrote: “Where has he been? Thought he was gonna be huge.”;
This critical TikToker commented: “Jeeze unless I am tone deaf, it’s time to hang up the mic.”;
“Always wondered what happened to him,”; a third said.
Another added: “Sounds proper out of tune at the start but fair play. Not sure why JJ didn’t get real big. Had some interesting tunes. Used to love Writer’s Block.”;
Just Jack’s appearance comes 17 years after his huge hit
The musician released his first albumThe Outer Marker in 2002.
But it wasn’t until five years later, following a number of live performances on TV, his song Starz In Their Eyes got to number two in the charts.
This led him to perform in a number of popular festivals in the coming years, including Glastonbury Festival,V FestivalandT4 on the Beach.
Over the years the star has released five albums, including The Outer Marker, Overtones, All Night Cinema, What We Did Today and most recently, That Was Now.
Just Jack has other popular songs including Glory Days, Writer’s Block and The Day I Died.
The star has kept on making music to this day, and juggles that with being a dad.
Although Jack isn’t performing at festivals and appearing on the radio that much anymore, he’s very happy with how everything has worked out.
He told LadBible in 2023: “I never tried to make a big radio hit. I never really wanted to be like a pop star.
“It was a strange time, it was a stressful time.
“I ended up being in a lot of environments that I wasn’t particularly comfortable in.
“I was grateful for the radio plays and stuff like that, but I never felt at home with pop people. That’s never how I saw myself.”;
The singer added: “I’ve always been a bit of a control freak. I think being in that world where you have managers and record labels and all these people around you pulling you in lots of different directions and things not always going as planned, there are so many things that you don’t really have control over.
“Now I have full control over literally everything, which obviously can be quite a lot of work. But I couldn’t be happier with that.
“It’s a great feeling and a real privilege to be in that position.”;
