Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Force, IDF, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, says plans are on the way to significantly broaden the military offensive against the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip.
Zamir disclosed that Israel plans to conquer Gaza Strip and hold territories.
Speaking on Sunday, Zamir, however, warned Israeli ministers that this could endanger the hostages held there.
Zamir said the plan provides for the “conquering of Gaza and retaining the territory”;.
The official said it will see the IDF take control of territory in Gaza, move the civilian population toward the south, attack Hamas!and prevent the terror group from taking control of humanitarian aid.
This comes as the security cabinet unanimously approved plans to expand the Gaza operation.
It is expected to only be implemented after US President Donald Trump’s visit to the region next week.
