Get ready for a shift in Han Ji Min and Son Suk Ku’s relationship on “Heavenly Ever After”;;!
JTBC’s “Heavenly Ever After”;; is a transcendent romance drama starring Kim Hye Ja as Lee Hae Sook, a woman who reunites with her husband in heaven after death. Unlike the other residents of heaven—including her husband Go Nak Joon (Son Suk Ku), who has chosen to return to the 30-something version of himself—Lee Hae Sook makes the unusual choice to keep her 80-year-old appearance.

On the previous episode of the drama, Lee Hae Sook was unexpectedly reunited with her mother-in-law Park Jong Gwi (Joo Min Kyung) in heaven. The relationship between the two women, who had only lived together for five years on Earth, was still as uncomfortable and tense as ever—and it ultimately led to a fight between Hae Sook and Nak Joon.
While the feuding couple entered a cold war after their fight, Som Yi (Han Ji Min) went down to Earth every single day to try to regain her lost memories. One day, she finally ran into the man in the Hawaiian shirt again. However, when the sight of the elderly man triggered a memory from her past, Som Yi flew into a rage and began strangling him, adding to the mystery surrounding her identity.
In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, there is a noticeable change in the dynamic between Nak Joon and Som Yi, who have grown closer while traveling back and forth between heaven and Earth together. Som Yi unexpectedly gifts Nak Joon with a flower ring that she made herself—and which matches the ring on her own finger.
As Som Yi personally places the ring on Nak Joon’s finger with a smile, there is a subtle romantic tension that lingers between them.
Meanwhile, another set of stills shows Hae Sook tightly clutching her mother-in-law’s hand. In the preview that aired at the end of the latest episode, Jong Gwi announced that she had applied for reincarnation—and it remains to be seen how her decision will change her relationship with her daughter-in-law.
