Governor Namadi appoints Lamido’s ex-commissioner as SEMA boss

Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved the appointment of Hannafi Yakubu Fagam as the new Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA in Jigawa State.

This announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim issued to DAILY POST.

Hannafi, a seasoned politician, previously served as the Commissioner for Finance from 2007 to 2011 under Sule Lamido’s administration.

Additionally, Governor Namadi has also approved appointed of Haruna Mairiga as his Special Adviser on Social Security. Notably, Mairiga is a former Executive Secretary of SEMA.

The statement emphasized that both appointments were made based on merit, competence, and personal integrity.

It expressed the expectation that the appointees would work diligently to uphold the trust placed in them and contribute significantly to the state’s development.

Both appointments take immediate effect.
