AS a teenager, Dr Sarah Tonks was “a bit chubby”; and often overlooked by boys due to her “average looks.”;
She found that potential suitors would prefer to ask out her “pretty”; friends, which left her at an all-time low.


Now aged 43, she has transformed her self-esteem with the help of £170,000 worth of injectables and .
The cosmetic doctor has undergone a range of procedures, from fillers and anti-wrinkle injections to a (BBL) and liposuction on her chin.
“I think it’s only fair that I experience what I subject my patients to, so I can have first-hand knowledge of how everything feels â and how good the results are,”; she explained.
Despite her natural approach to both giving and receiving facial fillers, Dr Sarah, who is known for her presence, sometimes faces criticism from trolls who say she “looks like she fries chips for a living.”;
“Given the fact that my great-grandma did work in a chip shop, they weren’t far wrong,”; she joked in an interview with the Daily Mail. “Maybe they don’t like it because having a tweakment feels like tricking them â it’s seen as cheating nature.”;
Dr Sarah had her first injectable at the age of 26, around the same time she started performing treatments on others, and she estimates that her physical alterations are worth a total of £170,000.
As a self-styled “industry insider”;, she hasn’t always had to foot the bill for her procedures.
For the past 17 years, she has received anti-wrinkle injections, such as Botox, and fillers in her face, lips and neck every few months. And he has also had injectable in her face, neck, hands, tummy, bum and arms for over a decade.
Her minimally invasive treatments include skin tone and texture-refining laser treatments, radiofrequency sessions, thread lifts in her face, carbon dioxide injections, fat-melting injections, permanent makeup, and microneedling.
But that’s not all. Dr Sarah has also undergone a number of more unconventional procedures.
She has had , which are injected into the nether regions to restore volume and lubrication, as well as a boob job, a nose job, a dangerous BBL and a BBL revision after complications from the first surgery.
“I’m from solid working-class stock in , and I work hard with my patients to help them make choices that will benefit them most, without risking financial ruin,”; she said.
“Eye-watering costs are why some people seek out cheaper, unqualified practitioners. And though I don’t condone it, I completely understand it.”;
Dr Sarah transitioned from “working-class stock”; to a dentist-turned-cosmetic doctor in her mid-twenties, just as cosmetic injectables were becoming mainstream. A dentist friend suggested they take a Botox and facial filler course as a side hustle.

“I went back to medical school with the intention of becoming a maxillofacial surgeon and specialising in facial reconstruction â but I didn’t get very far,”; Dr Sarah admitted.
“Frankly, I had started building a clientele for cosmetic injectables, and it looked like too promising a career to give up.
“From that point on, I never stopped training, researching, and trying new treatments and techniques.”;
While some may be shocked by the amount of work she has had done, Dr Sarah said she tries to keep everything balanced and subtle.
“I recently opened a clinic in Knightsbridge and am very aware that a cosmetic doctor’s face is her calling card,”; she continued.
“People come to you because they like your aesthetic and your approach â which, in my case, is relatively minimal.”;
Dr Sarah’s looks are “often insulted”; for “either having had too much work done or not enough.”;
She added: “My favourite insult on social media was ‘you look like you fry chips for a living’.
“Given that my great-grandma worked in a chip shop, they weren’t far wrong.”;
