Youths, under the aegis of Udenu Youth Forum, have thrown their weight behind the decision of the member representing Udenu/Igboeze North Federal Constituency, Hon. Denis Agbo, to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

DAILY POST reports that Agbo, alongside his counterpart, Hon. Chidi Obetta of Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, formally from Labour Party on Thursday.

Speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Thursday after the defection of the lawmaker, the former Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN,, Enugu State Chapter, Comrade Paschal Nnaemeka Ugwu said it would enhance further development in the constituency.

The youths, who had visited the federal lawmaker a fortnight ago, begging him to rejoin the party, described him as an innovative leader who understands the rudiments of grassroots development that provide positive impacts on the people.

Ugwu said what prompted their visit a fortnight ago to Hon. Agbo’s house was to call for him to rejoin the PDP, which has an entrepreneur as its leader in the state, in the person of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah.

“We believe that a strategic return to the PDP will give him more room to actualize his plans for our people.

“The PDP in Enugu State, led by a practical leader like Governor Mbah, is development-oriented and people-centered,”; he said.

Ugwu also said he was of high hope that Hon. Agbo’s return to PDP would benefit both the constituency and Enugu State as a whole, adding that Udenu youth will give him the needed support.

“We are ready to stand by him and give him the necessary backing in the PDP.

“Our concern is for the progress of Udenu and Igboeze North, and we are confident that aligning with the party in power at the state level will boost this cause,”; he further stated.
