Published on May 02, 2025 at 01:35 PM

A Magistrate Court sitting in Iwaro-Oka, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, has remanded a septuagenarian, Kehinde Adeyemi, for allegedly obtaining money from one Daniel Ayinde under false pretences.

Adeyemi, who was arraigned on one count charge of fraud, was accused of unlawfully facilitating an EFCC recruitment slot.

The prosecution stressed that the offences were committed on March 24 and March 27, 2025, at Araromi Quarters, Akungba Akoko, in the Akungba Akoko Magisterial District.

According to the prosecutor, Boboye Olasunkanmi informed the court that the defendant had committed a similar crime elsewhere.

Boboye maintained that the offences contravene Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

With the counsel for the defendant, T.M. Agbede, pleading that the court should grant the defendant bail on liberal terms, the magistrate B.A. Ikusika ordered the remand of Adeyemi and adjourned the case till May 15, 2025.
