Bauchi StateGovernor, Bala Mohammed, has called for a thorough investigation into the assassination of former Jama’are Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Wabi.
Wabi was allegedly murdered by associates of his son.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado on Friday, Mohammed condemned the incident, calling for a thorough, unbiased investigation by the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies.
“This tragic loss is not only a blow to the Wabi family but to the entire state,”; he said.
The governor also appealed to parents and guardians across the state to focus on the moral upbringing of their children, stressing the need to address the deterioration of societal values to prevent similar tragedies.

DAILY POST reports that the 66-year-old was reportedly stabbed to death at his Fadaman Mada residence in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2025, with police suggesting that his son’s associates were behind the attack.
Preliminary police investigations point to Ahmad Abdulkadir, aka Abba, and Faruk Malami, aka Ajebo, who allegedly broke into Wabi’s home around 3:00 am and attacked him with multiple stabs to the neck.
Wabi was found in a critical state after a distress call from a concerned local and was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
