A total of 2,520 Muslim pilgrims from Bauchi State are set to participate in the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam.

During a farewell ceremony held at the Sultan Saad International Hajj Camp in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed urged the intending pilgrims to devote their time in the Holy Land to prayer and spiritual reflection.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, he assured that the state government has made adequate provisions for their welfare throughout the pilgrimage.

The governor said the pilgrims would be accommodated in facilities located within close proximity to the Grand Mosque in Haram, ensuring convenience during their stay.

“I congratulate you for being among the fortunate ones selected to perform the 2025 Hajj,”; he said.

Mohammed also revealed that Max Air Limited has been contracted to airlift the pilgrims from the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport to King Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina.

He confirmed that all pilgrims have been vaccinated against meningitis and yellow fever, and that a team of medical personnel has been sponsored by the government to provide first aid support during the trip.

The governor advised the pilgrims to conduct themselves with dignity and avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the state or the country, urging them to maintain peace and unity with fellow pilgrims.

He also encouraged them to pray for harmony among the various religious, ethnic, and political groups in Bauchi State.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim , expressed appreciation to the Governor for his unwavering support.

He noted that all necessary arrangements, including comfortable accommodation, feeding, and transportation, have been finalised to ensure a smooth experience for the pilgrims.

He added that all board staff involved in the operation have received adequate training to provide proper guidance and care for the pilgrims from departure to return.
