Construction is set to commence this week on a monumental structure that is twice the height of the Angel of the North, and it will be visible to passengers flying into a major UK airport.

The £40 million Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer will consist of one million bricks, with each brick representing a story of Jesus responding to someone's prayer.

Standing at 51 meters (167 feet), this landmark will take the shape of a Mobius strip and is intended to serve as a national symbol of hope and faith, prominently featuring in the Midlands skyline.

It will be constructed between the M6 and M42 near Coleshill, Warwickshire, and will be visible to motorists, rail passengers, and those flying into Birmingham Airport.

Composed of one million bricks, each symbolizing a story of answered prayer, this monumental structure is anticipated to be finished by 2028.

The charity behind the monument asserts that every brick will make hope visible and that the structure will be "visible from six miles away."

The site will also feature a prayer garden, café, and a discovery center where visitors can explore digital narratives of faith through interactive technology.

According to the Eternal Wall team , visitors will have the ability to scan individual bricks with their phones to read or listen to real-life stories of answered prayers.

Almost 150,000 stories from 125 countries have already been submitted or pledged.

Project organizers aspire for the monument to inspire future generations and to preserve the UK's Christian heritage in a modern, impactful manner.

A groundbreaking ceremony to mark the initiation of construction will take place on Wednesday, November 5.

“I am thrilled that we are creating a monument that will share a million stories of hope and that people will be able to discover Jesus, who listens to and answers prayer,” expressed former chaplain Richard Gamble, the project's originator.

“This is the moment to establish a landmark of hope.

“A lasting testament to the power of prayer, safeguarding the Christian heritage in our nation.”

The land has been generously donated by businessman Lord Edmiston through his company, IM Properties.

Lord Edmiston stated: “It serves as a testament to both present and future generations of the creator of the universe, who has answered countless prayers throughout history and continues to do so today.”

The Eternal Wall organization mentioned that the site will also encompass 10 acres of green space and a visitor center, and it is expected to attract around 250,000 visitors annually.

While the fundraising goal has been met, an additional £5.7 million is still needed to fully operationalize the monument and cover landscaping expenses.

Supporters are being encouraged to assist in getting the site “visitor ready,” with £12,449 raised so far toward a £110,000 short-term goal.
