The filming of the new Harry Potter TV series has encountered delays due to fans breaking into the sets, as well as threats from transgender activists.

Last week, some individuals managed to access the semi-constructed Diagon Alley at Leavesden Studios and shared a photo of the iconic backdrop online.

Meanwhile, some online groups have been planning to disrupt location filming due to their disdain for the creator's views.

A TV insider commented: “This has been a significant headache for the creators and has initiated a thorough investigation within the studios regarding the security breach.

“Security measures have been enhanced in response to the incidents that have occurred, as well as the anticipated actions stemming from discussions taking place online.

“The series is not scheduled to air until 2027, which means there will be an extended filming period during which numerous disruptions, damages, or leaks could occur.”

In addition to being a costly challenge for studio executives, it is also unfair to the majority of fans who wish to enjoy the production.

However, if they must address issues like this at every turn, it could slow down the process, which is undesirable for everyone involved.”

Online forums led by transgender activists considered targeting filming of scenes in Cornwall earlier this month, openly suggesting it as a “protest opportunity.”

The crew is now set to film in the historic market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire, next week, which is ideal for the vintage aesthetic of the new series.

This prompted a troubling comment on a TransgenderUK forum, where one user jokingly suggested causing an explosion disguised as an accident, stating: “Skipton, ah yes…notorious for gas leaks, so I’ve heard.”

Another user replied in the same thread: “This is the most extreme solution I’ve seen so far, but I’m intrigued…”

This has raised particular concern due to the number of filming locations and the nature of some, including the creation of the Hogwarts train station in Windsor Great Park.
