Dr. Mohammed Egye Osolafia, the Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has regained his freedom less than 24 hours after being abducted.
Osolafia, widely known as Deedat, was seized by unidentified gunmen who stormed his residence.
He was reportedly abducted on Saturday night shortly after arriving at his residence in the Tudun Amba area of Lafia, the state capital.
Reports indicate that the assailants stormed the neighbourhood, shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents before whisking him away.
Confirming the incident, Governor Sule’s Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, described the abduction as “sad and unfortunate.”
Multiple security and family sources confirmed that he was released unharmed on Sunday night, though details of the circumstances surrounding his freedom, including whether a ransom was paid, remain unclear.
