A prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has urged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to put aside their differences.

George made this appeal on Monday during an interview on Politics Today, a program on Channels Television that was monitored by DAILY POST.

The seasoned politician characterized the conflict between Wike and Makinde as embarrassing.
“I want to advise them. It’s time to stop these antics. In politics, whatever actions you wish to take within your party, you should proceed accordingly,” he stated.

According to DAILY POST, Wike and Makinde, who were once allies, have recently been in the news over disputes related to the party's leadership.

Makinde claimed that the FCT Minister intended to support the PDP for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

In response, Wike, during a media briefing with selected journalists on Monday in Port Harcourt, denied the accusation, alleging that Makinde was undermining the PDP.

It is worth noting that Wike and Makinde were both part of the now-disbanded G5 group, which also included former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

This group endorsed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress during the 2023 presidential election, asserting that the southern region must produce the nation’s leader.

Nevertheless, George mentioned that he had previously counseled them—all former members of the PDP—not to make unilateral decisions regarding whom to support during that election.
