Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has encouraged Palestinians in Gaza to reconstruct their homes with enhanced defenses following the recent ceasefire.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Gumi characterized the people of Gaza as victors in the conflict, despite the widespread devastation caused by the war.
He stated that the ceasefire represented a form of divine intervention, adding that “God has many ways of granting victory.”
Gumi also criticized former US President Donald Trump, accusing him of exacerbating the conflict in pursuit of global recognition.
“As for the Gazans, insha’Allah, you’ll recover in two years. You have triumphed in the war. No territory lost, no kh___s destroyed. This time, they should construct bunkers capable of withstanding even a nuclear detonation, even though no one could realistically use a nuclear weapon in the entire Middle East,” he remarked.
The cleric’s comments come as Palestinians return to Gaza to discover their homes and belongings in ruins following the announcement of a ceasefire.
