A HEARTBROKEN Gail Porter has revealed she was confronted by the POLICE after scattering her dad’s ashes in the sea.
The TV star’s beloved father Craig died suddenly in 2020 aged 72, after suffering a massive brain haemorrhage.

Today, , 55, shared a black and white shot of herself standing at the edge of the sea.
The emotional star penned: “That day when you scatter your dad’s ashes.
“At least I got him home. And when the police on Portobello beach in Edinburgh said… ‘Are you Gail Porter?’ Of course I said… ‘No’
“They then asked, ‘Did you get permission to scatter ashes in the sea’

“‘No… you can dive in and get them out if you want’.
“Ahhhh… life/death/ police have bigger things to worry about.
“Funny old world. Remember the good things.”
Gail announced the death of her dad in May 2020, the night after her doc, ‘Being Gail Porter’, had aired.
Taking to to reveal the sad news she tweeted at the time: “Since that documentary, my father passed away, I had him in his wee cremated box by me while I watched.
“Hard but he had a great life xxx.”
Craig passed away while living in Marbella.
Speaking to the BBC, Gail said: “I got a phone call from my dad in the morning. He was totally fine. And then I got a phone call in the afternoon saying, ‘Your dad’s dead, he’s had a massive brain haemorrhage’.”
The star’s dad’s death was during the Covid and the Spanish borders were about to close for isolation purposes.
Gail was told she had one week to get from Edinburgh to , and during that time she had to identify and cremate her father, and then take him back home.
“I got the last flight out of Spain,” she revealed. “I put him in a bag that said ‘happy’ on it, because I didn’t want people to ask me any questions.”
Gail credits her father with helping her get back on her feet, during a tough period in her life.
The star, who in the Nineties was known for hosting shows such as Top Of The Pops, after living on just £200 a month.
Gail’s kindhearted dad gave her a boost by paying her rent in a one-bedroom flat.
Craig previously told his daughter he believed she developed mental health problems because she moved to London from Scotland.
Gail has suffered post-natal depression and bipolar disorder and was sectioned under the Mental Health Act in 2011.
