Sure, for many the sales are an opportunity to treat yourself, but according to expert Lena Aspette these trends are just a quick fad.
So, before you’re making a trip to for new clothing, make sure which common buys to steer clear of.
Dropping knowledge bombs on , Lena Aspette (@ lena.aspette ) first urged fashionistas to avoid spending their cash on knee-length coats, as well as outerwear with a round neckline.
Instead, she said in the video , it’s best to stick to a classic silhouette that will never go out of fashion.
Another popular item she urged shoppers to have a think about when buying are cargo trousers and cargo skirts.
Lena said: “Cargo design has been trending for the last couple of years – but now, the trend is coming to an end.
“If you are looking for basic timeless trousers, cargo won’t be good.”
If you’re looking to replenish your , you might be tempted to snap up a snazzy bag with loads of embellishments or silver detailing.
However, according to the expert, this is another fad that won’t stand the test of time.
Such items, including “shapeless bags”, “will be good if you plan to wear them for the next six months”.
“But they won’t be versatile beyond that,” Lena warned.
The personal stylist continued: “Trendy shoes, like Mary Janes, round-toe ballerinas, cowboy boots or platform shoes – you can see a lot of these models across various different brands.
“But none of them will become a good investment in your wardrobe.”
Have you already spotted a cosy knitted in the ? It might keep you warm – but, in Lena’s opinion, they too will soon become outdated.
Why Primark is great for looking expensive on a budget
By, Fabulous Fashion Editor
AS someone who’s no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it’s about time that celebrities started catching on too.
For as long as I’ve been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those “I have nothing to wear” moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect.
And I’m definitely not alone – on any Friday or Saturday night, you’ll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time.
But no matter what, Primark always delivers.
Now, Rita Ora is leading the charge, showing that you can snag a designer-worthy look without spending a fortune at high-end stores.
While Rita’s not rushing in last minute for a red carpet outfit, she’s proving you can achieve the same high-impact style for much less.
Looking stunning in her tailored suit alongside her mum Vera, Rita fit right in among the other A-listers dripping in Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham – if anything, she looked even better than some of the guests at The Fashion Awards.
With Myleene Klass and Roxy Horner already jumping on the Primark bandwagon, I’m sure more stars will be following suit soon enough.
“Cable-knit jumpers or sweaters with very sophisticated patterns – trend for them comes and goes, but they will never be timeless.”
Posted earlier this year, the clip has already taken the internet by storm, racking up close to a whopping 118k views and many sharing their own fashion pet peeves.
One said: “Don’t wear a bracelet with a snake as the design.”
“Plastic sling back shoes,” another added.
Meanwhile, someone else thought: “Buy whatever you want, when ever you want and don’t listen to everything your hear on social media.”
