NATHANIEL CHALOBAH will be out of contract and leave Sheffield Wednesday ahead of next season.

The England star is among seven other players who will be departing from the South Yorkshire club as they shake-up the squad heading for .

The midfielder – who joined the club on a free transfer in July 2024 – announced the news on Instagram.

Chalobah, 31, said: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone associated with the club.

“To all the people that came out every single week home and away to support the boys just shows the passion and love you all have for the club.

“To my guys in the changing room. Dark times from the start but we kept each other going through crazy times, character, resilience, fight.

“But most of all empathy through circumstances we hopefully never have to go through again.

“I just wished I was there more to go through it with you all.

“To the staff that were able to keep everyone level even though times were tough for you too, thank you for your care.

“From my family and I (especially my kids who are now die hard Wednesday fans) THANK YOU.”

The former ace made his England debut for the Under-16s in 2010.

He progressed through the ranks and featured for ‘s England U21s in the 2015 and 2017 Euro finals.

He became the nation’s highest capped development player with almost 100 appearances to his name at all levels.

Chalobah – brother to Chelsea star Trevor – was called up to the seniors in 2017.

Dominic Iorfa will also be saying farewell after seven years with the Owls and also will not feature in the club’s new era under Arise Capital Partners LLC.

After signing for them in January 2019, the defender has made 222 appearances in the blue and white shirt.

Harry Evers, Junior Kamwa, Marvelous Nakamba, Favour Onukwuli, Rio Shipston, Zain Silcott-Duberry will also be leaving.

And loanees , Murphy Cooper, Jaden Heskey, Joel Ndala and will return to their own parent clubs.

Out-of-contract Max Lowe, Mackenzie Maltby, and Gui Siqueira are continuing talks and will be invited back to pre-season training.

While new contracts have been offered to , Bruno Fernandes, Reece Johnson, Devlan Moses, Jack Phillips and Jarvis Thornton.

George Brown, Joe Emery, Svante Ingelsson, Cole McGhee, Denny Oliver, Liam Palmer, Logan Stretch and Ernie Weaver will stay under contract.
