He stated: “Richard B. Cheney, the 46th Vice President of the United States, passed away last night, November 3, 2025. He was 84 years old.”
Cheney previously held the position of White House Chief of Staff for President Gerald Ford, served as the U.S. representative for Wyoming’s at-large congressional district from 1979 to 1989, and was the 17th United States Secretary of Defense during the administration of President George H. W. Bush.
He has been regarded as the most powerful vice president in American history.
