Published on June 26, 2025 at 04:16 PM

Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has said that if Nigeria is to lead Africa, its Civil Service must lead the way.

Walson-Jack stated this in her opening speech at the Maiden International Civil Conference held in Abuja on Thursday

DAILY POST reports that the HCSF spoke in the presence President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Jibrin Barau and the
Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kekere-Ekun.

The International Civil Service Conference, hosted by Nigeria in collaboration with the Global Government Forum, UK, is part of the 2025 Civil Service Week organised by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

She said that the conference, themed “Rejuvenate, Innovate Accelerate!”;, reflects the kind of service Nigerian civil service must become – rejuvenated in energy and purpose.

“One of the most exciting elements of this conference is the Aspire Stage. In this dedicated space, our young Civil Servants will present their ideas, dreams, and solutions for tomorrow’s public service,”; she added.

“This platform is not just about preparing the next generation; it is about including them now, allowing them to lead, innovate, and make their voices heard. Their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas are crucial for the future of our public service.

“In that same spirit of innovation, we are proud to talk about Service-Wise GPT, an AI-powered assistant developed by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

“This AI tool is a game-changer, empowering Civil Servants and the public by providing quick and accurate answers to questions about the Nigerian Public Service, the Rules, policies, circulars, procedures, and our activities. It saves time, reduces dependence on manual searches, improves decision-making, and enhances overall efficiency in day-to-day operations.

“Its advanced algorithms and a vast database ensure that it can handle a wide range of queries, making it an invaluable resource for our Civil Service

“This conference is a declaration that public service must no longer lag. It is our commitment to lead boldly. We call for all public servants to bring their best ideas and open hearts and be prepared to serve as we have never done. We would listen deeply, challenge respectfully, collaborate intentionally, and leave here renewed in our mission to build a public service that truly serves and delivers the promiof good governance. Our mission is clear: to have an efficient, accountable, and transparent public service.”;
