Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has acknowledged that Christians are being targeted and killed in Nigeria.
The former Minister made this statement on Tuesday in response to the recent increase in killings and mass abductions by criminal groups.
FFK, a strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu, labeled those who deny the killing of Christians as “propagandists.”
He remarked that the claim that “Christians are not being killed in Nigeria and that we bury empty coffins” is a blatant falsehood.
According to him, Christians in Nigeria “are targeted and killed in significant numbers,” emphasizing that anyone who denies the killing of Christians, downplays it, or makes contrary statements, “is a deceitful propagandist, a genocide enabler, and a deceptive liar.”
The former Minister, however, clarified that the security crisis in the nation impacts all faiths, noting that Muslims are also victims.
“What must be clearly understood, however, is that Muslims are ALSO targeted and killed by the same terrorists in equal numbers,” he stated.
FFK asserted that the Islamist terrorists are killing “us all, both Christians and Muslims,” and emphasized that urgent action is needed to address the killings “swiftly and effectively.”
In response to the recent abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the brutal murder of the school principal, he noted that the victims were not Christians but Muslims.
FFK also mentioned that the 64 individuals who were recently abducted in Tsafe, Zamfara State, and the three people who were killed “were not Christians but Muslims.”
“The Catholic Rev. Father and 12 girls who were abducted in Kagarko, Kaduna State on Saturday were not Muslims but Christians.
“The Army officers, including a Brigadier General, who were attacked and killed in Borno State a few days ago were both Christians and Muslims.
“They only care about the shedding of innocent blood and the abduction of our people,” FFK, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), added.
This comes amid reports from lawmakers in the United States claiming that Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria.
The assertion, which has been rejected by Nigerian authorities, is currently under investigation by US officials.
