Yobe State Government says it is set to strengthen its medical imaging capacity through strategic partnerships with international experts and local institutions.
Governor Buni made this known when he held a high-level meeting with visiting experts and local stakeholders to discuss ongoing and future capacity-building efforts in medical imaging.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, the Governor said: “Cardiovascular diseases remain a leading cause of illness in our region.
“It is crucial that we now look toward building capacity for cardiac MRI, renal imaging, and other key diagnostic areas.”
“Yobe is already a leader in the North-East for imaging infrastructure, and we are determined to make this state a reference point for medical innovation and health tourism”, he said.
The State reaffirmed its continued support for health-related research and training initiatives, particularly those that bring international collaboration and long-term infrastructure development to Yobe.
In a remark, Dr. Mahmoud Bukar Maina noted that such innovation, when realized, could transform community-level diagnostics and significantly lower the barriers to access in underserved areas.
