Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka has heaped plaudits on his teammate, Victor Boniface.
The duo linked up with Die Werkself from Arsenal and Union St Gilloise this summer.
Boniface has hit the ground running at the BayArena, netting four times and providing one assist in three league appearances for Xabi Alonso’s side.
Leverkusen currently top the Bundesliga standings ahead of holders Bayern Munich.
Xhaka highlighted Boniface’s importance to the team.
”Boniface is a down-to-earth boy who is hungry for goals and successes,” he told Bild Sports.
“It’s only good for the team if you have someone up front who wants to score goals and celebrate success.
“That’s how you get better, how you make the team better, how you make yourself better. We’re glad we have someone like that with us.”
Boniface is currently on international duty with Nigeria.
Bayer Leverkusen will take on Bayern Munich in their next league game.
