According to Hull Live , the club agreed to end his stay so he could move away with ease.

Williams joined Hull after a trial at the club last year having been a free agent for 12 months since leaving Old Trafford.

His contract was initially only one-season long with an option for a second but that has now been cancelled.

Williams only played once for the Hull first-team and that was back in August.

He was only named in the matchday squad by manager Sergek Jakirovic six times.

His last involvement was on November 25 and the club had planned for him to play Under-21s football to build up fitness.

Williams has struggled with a calf injury throughout and never got to the right physical condition.

Speaking in December, Jakirovic said: “We are waiting [for] news [on the injury] and also we made one plan for him, six weeks plan, that he has a rhythm of games.

“He played for the Under-21s and then together with the club now we will decide what we will do with him in January.

“[Whether] he will stay with us [or] he will fight for his place, so he will continue forward maybe, to change clubs, but we will see.

“This is also a question for all clubs. Right now, in those [academy] games he showed something but I don’t know if it’s enough for the Championship.

“This is something what maybe I need to decide we will do with him.

“Whether he will stay or he will change.”
