They are now set to take on the likes of , and in their first-ever group stage.

But Bodo/Glimt chiefs want to take advantage of the club’s recent upturn by building a stunning new stadium.

192 out of 193 members voted in favour of a new 10,000-seater arena to replace their current home ground.

Bodo/Glimt have been playing at the 8,000-capacity Aspmyra Stadion in 1966.

Yet those at the top feel the best way to drive the club into the future is by playing at a new stadium.

The massive project will cost a whopping £90m to complete.

And it’s reckoned Bodo/Glimt will be able to start playing there two years from now, with the stadium set to be called the Arctic Arena.

It certainly marks an exciting period in the club’s history.

2020’s title win saw them become the northernmost European club to win a national league competition.

And their presence inside the infamously cold Arctic Circle could help to attract more tourists to both the new stadium and the city of Bodo itself.
