The Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Austin Agada, has issued a warning regarding unauthorized meetings that are being disguised as congresses.
The party has reported instances of dishonest individuals allegedly organizing meetings across various local government areas in the state, falsely claiming to hold APC congresses.
This information was shared in a statement on Monday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Daniel Ihomun.
“We want to make it absolutely clear that the legitimate Executive Committee of the APC in Benue State has not authorized any such meetings. Additionally, the National Secretariat of our esteemed party has not issued any directive for congresses to be conducted in Benue State or anywhere else in Nigeria at this time. To eliminate any confusion, the APC in Benue State is not holding any congresses.
“While individuals are permitted to hold private meetings, they must refrain from using our party's name to mislead members or tarnish the reputation of the APC. We therefore urge all loyal members of our great party to ignore any such gatherings that are falsely being presented as official APC congresses,” he stated in the announcement.
Ihomun emphasized that only the state and national secretariats of the APC have the authority to approve such activities.
