Joshua came under fire after saying: “I’m a very respectful guy brought up by a good family, but if I can kill you, I will kill you.”
The usually outspoken Fury was left disgusted by the remarks, labelling AJ a “classless loser”
But Joshua responded: “Forget Tyson. I don’t like that guy. Forget that guy.
“Your opinion, what you live your life by is irrelevant to what I think and vice versa. Tyson don’t need to worry about my opinion.
“He needs to focus on himself. Tyson’s a hater.”
Fury, whose brother Tommy beat Paul in 2023, said on Instagram: “I’ve just been sent a video of Anthony Joshua talking about, ‘If he kills somebody, he’d kill somebody in a boxing ring.’
“I think, you know what, he’s a little bit long in the tooth to be talking s***e like that.
“He’s 37 years old, at the end of his career fighting a YouTuber, a Disney Channel guy who Tommy beat.
“And now he’s talking about killing him and all that to try and sell, please. Barking up the wrong tree, idiot.
“Here’s a fun fact, if I ever come across you, bum, I’m knocking you dead spark out. I ain’t a YouTuber or a man half your size, I am him, the man.
“You’re a classless loser, coming off a 15-month knockout defeat to a local lad. Imagine if someone from Morecambe knocked me out.
“You big bum, useless dosser. And I can’t wait if Jake Paul knocks you spark out you big bum.”
Joshua spoke out to clarify his comments
He said: “When I say I wanna kill Jake, I’m not talking about down the alleyway. I’m talking about I wanna get in the ring and compete.
“We’re in that type of industry where we can actually physically harm someone and it’s legal. That’s what we sign up for.
“But there’s a lot of respect there as two men that are coming to the table to do a great thing by putting boxing to the forefront of everyone’s lips.”
He needs to focus on himself. Tyson’s a hater.
Anthony Joshua
Joshua, 36, returns for the first time since his September 2024 knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, 28.
Meanwhile Paul, 28, has a modest 12-1 record but gives away huge size, skill and experience in the Miami mismatch.
The fight is scheduled for eight rounds with 10oz gloves worn and AJ’s
An unthinkable victory for Paul would mark boxing’s greatest upset of all time and leaving Joshua staring retirement in the face.
But AJ reckons otherwise by warning he would fight on even if he suffered defeat to his ultimate underdog opponent.
He said: “It is what it is, we’re going to keep fighting.
“I feel like boxing, you get put on the biggest stage because they want you to embarrass yourself and they want you to fold.
“They wanna see you crumble, but no, that’s not me. Through my highs, as I said, never let success get to your head and never let failures get to your heart.”
