ANDY Burnham is plotting to trigger a “tsunami” of ministerial resignations to try to force Sir Keir Starmer out of No10 if he refuses to quit.
The so-called King of the North is being sworn in as MP for Makerfield on Monday morning in Parliament.

He is expected to demand a one on one withsoon afterwards to demand the PM hand over the reins of power to him in a bloodless coup.
If Sir Keir refuses, then allies expect ministers to start resigning in a bid to batter Starmer’s regime into submission “like Boris Johnson was”.
Boris Johnson eventually quit as after so many ministers quit he could not staff all government positions.
Cabinet minister and Net Zero chief Ed Miliband is one of those who could quit.
One ally said: “Cabinet ministers don’t want to quit but will if they have to.
“Ed could go, and I think if the first minister goes that could trigger a tsunami.”
Another backing Labour MP said: “If he doesn’t quit then there will be more ministers resigning.
“It would be like Boris Johnson, we would stop him staffing ministerial posts.”

team are also busy trying to get a whopping 200 Labour MPs – half the parliamentary party – to back him for leader in a massive show of strength.
Although their preference is for to go “with dignity” with an orderly transition to a new Burnham regime in September.
Yesterday, Labour grandee Charlie Falconer said the PM has “no authority” and should hand over power to
In an astonishing broadside the formerly loyal Labour peer said the PM has lost the confidence of his own MPs and should quit No10.
He told the BBC: “I think we have to move as quickly as possible to resolve the position.
“The position is completely unmaintainable for the country – we have a who’s got absolutely no authority.
“There should be an agreed transition process in which Andy and Keir cooperate as to when the handover should take place.”
is looking increasingly isolated as Labour MPs desert him in their droves.
Another former loyal Labour MP Peter Swallow switched allegiance and knifed the PM live on the telly on Friday night’s episode of BBC Newsnight.
Mr Swallow said: “It is now the right time for the Prime Minister to resign and hand over to someone else.”
He added that he would be “backing
A senior frontbencher said the mood in the Labour party has shifted – now nearly everyone wants him out.
He said: “No one in their right mind thinks he can stay – he must come to that realisation over the weekend. I don’t see a path out for Keir at all.
“The problem is people have given up on Ker, I don’t like saying that but it’s true.
“The final straw was the whole defence funding mess up and John Healey’s resignation – which ended up pleasing absolutely nobody.
“Keir is very good at doing that.”
A senior politician said: “As soon as you start losing it’s like you’ve got the plague in medieval times – people sense it and move on. It’s a Darwinian process.”
One MP in camp said Labour MPs are queuing up to offer him their support.
He said: “We are like a boat and the salmon are jumping into the boat before we even put the line down.”
In a sign he is measuring up the No10 curtains and planning for government, Mr Burnham is planning to meet Labour MPs next week to “get to know them”.
He has also been piecing together his Cabinet and top team if he does end up in No10.
Angela Rayner and Louise Haigh will return to Cabinet with big jobs.
Shabana Mahmood is understood to have been sounded out for but wants to stay as Home Secretary.
– who quit as Labour MP for Makerfield so could make his triumphant return – is expected to get a big policy job and probably a peerage.
Although there is still massive uncertainty about what policies will actually pursue if he gets installed in No10.
economics adviser Jim O’Neill has suggested the government should go on a borrowing binge to bankroll greater investment.

He told Sky News: “The second part of the fiscal rule on borrowing to invest I think that could be explored a lot more, and not in a way that freaks out the financial markets.
“I don’t think you’d necessarily have to rip up the fiscal rules. I think you just need to be bolder about borrowing to invest.”
team scrambled to insist he would stick to the fiscal rules after the comments.
has suggested he would cut taxes for pubs and farms, could increase public spending and would stick to fiscal rules.
Who could replace Rachel Reeves as Chancellor?
RACHEL Reeves will be sacked as Chancellor if Andy Burnham becomes Prime Minister.
But he is still considering who to replace Ms Reeves with amid fears a leftwing Treasury chief could send the markets into a tailspin.
Ed Miliband has been lobbying to be made Chancellor, but many in the Burnham camp believe this will go down badly with the markets.
Mr Burnham had sounded out Shabana Mahmood for the job, as reported in this newspaper, but she wants to stay as Home Secretary.
Former Defence Secretary John Healey – who quit Cabinet this month blasting Ms Reeves for failure to fund our military – is among those being tipped to land the Chancellor job.
Mr Healey is seen as a “safe pair of hands” who would not spook the markets.
There is also chatter that Yvette Cooper, the current Foreign Secretary, could get the job.
Mr Burnham has previously said Britain must not be so “in hock to the bond markets” in comments that tanked his economic credibility.
His team are anxious to avoid a Liz Truss style market meltdown if he becomes PM.
Sharon Graham, the general secretary of one of Britain’s biggest unions, urged Mr Burnham not to make Ed Miliband Chancellor.
The Unite chief also urged him to get drilling in the North Sea for oil and gas and to back a third runway at Heathrow.
She said: “It is no secret that I disagree with Ed on almost every issue relating to a workers’ transition.
“Ed only seems to be interested in one side of the equation, rushing Britain to net zero with almost no thought for jobs, skills and national security.
“In my view, a Labour chancellor needs a vision for Britain that understands the skills we have, nurtures those skills and sees Britain as an industrial force that can lead in industries, not decimate them.”
