The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has criticized President Bola Tinubu regarding his recent ambassadorial nominees.
During an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, which was observed by DAILY POST, Amadi stated that the nominations reflect a cynical political agenda where loyalty and political rewards take precedence over merit or foreign policy strategy in determining significant diplomatic roles.
He indicated that the list serves as a clear reflection of the president's perspective on governance, contending that Tinubu is openly and unreservedly political in his approach.
“The president perceives appointments through a political lens. He prioritizes political value, rewards, and utility. If you support him, you are compensated. He values loyalty,” he remarked.
Amadi further asserted that the appointments of ambassadors are, to some extent, inherently political on a global scale.
“This list reveals the president’s perspective on governance. As a governor, he exhibited some degree of technocracy. However, as president, he is overtly political,” he added.
He emphasized that ambassadorial appointments provide insight into a president’s ethical framework.
