The Adamawa State Government has urged successful civil service job applicants to stay calm and expect their employment letters in their respective email inboxes.

This appeal was made on Thursday afternoon after the government noticed discrepancies in the distribution of appointment letters, with reports indicating that some unsuccessful applicants received fraudulent offer letters.

The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission stated that although authentic appointment notifications were initially planned to be distributed on December 31, 2025, the release is unfortunately delayed.

The Permanent Secretary of the commission, Abubakar Maiha, encouraged applicants to be patient, emphasizing that the commission is working diligently to ensure that legitimate appointment letters are sent out before the week's end.

Maiha’s request followed a press briefing by the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Awwal Tukur, regarding the challenges faced during the civil service recruitment process and the government's efforts to restore what was intended to be a highly transparent and fair procedure.

Tukur noted that the process had been compromised by job racketeers who issued letters to unqualified candidates, assuring that such letters would be invalid. Only letters based on the original list of qualified candidates, sent electronically to their personal emails, would be deemed valid.

Tukur revealed that 4,200 applicants made it to the final list for the recruitment process.

Daily Post recalls that over 90,000 individuals applied when the recruitment process commenced in early 2025.

The applicants underwent various vetting procedures at different stages, initially reducing the number from over 50,000 to more than 8,000, and finally to the 4,200 who will now receive their employment letters.
