A TROPICAL waterpark costing £75million nearly opened in the UK.

Elysium Water Park was due to be built in , spanning across 75 acres close to the airport.

Building work on the complex, which planned to include a 145-bedroom hotel and site, was expected to start in late 2019.

An X account for the project, said: “Elysium will offer so much more than just the core waterpark experience, and will also incorporate another significant trend, the water-based spa aimed at 18+ age group.”;

However, the project faced many hurdles including funding.
