Kinsmen of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, have endorsed Governor Siminalayi Fubara for a second term in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

This endorsement was made on Tuesday during the 2025 Eneka Day Celebration, which took place at State Primary School One, Eneka. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Unity: Our Strength for Progress.”

The Eneka community, located in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area where Wike originates, stated that he is no longer the governor of the state, emphasizing that the office is solely held by Fubara.

The event, where Wike’s kinsmen expressed their confidence in Fubara, attracted community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents from the eleven communities that comprise the clan.

Speaking on behalf of the clan, the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) of Eneka, Lawson Chukwu, reiterated the community's steadfast loyalty and support for the Governor.
Chukwu commended the administration for its developmental initiatives in the area and urged the governor to focus on improving the internal roads within the community.

He also advocated for the elevation of the Eneka traditional stool from second-class to first-class status, highlighting that such recognition would further enhance the cultural heritage and unity of the people.

Additionally, the political leader of the Eneka Clan and President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Sen. John Azuta-Mbata, affirmed that the people of Eneka recognize Siminalayi Fubara as the sole Governor of Rivers State.

Mbata assured the Governor of the clan’s ongoing friendship and support, describing the relationship as strong and unbroken.

In his response, the Governor expressed gratitude for the endorsement and the demonstration of unity from the Eneka people.

He assured the community that his administration would prioritize the restoration of many of their deteriorating internal roads, many of which have been damaged by heavy-duty trucks during the construction of flyovers.

“I promise you significant and reasonable interventions to enhance road access within your clan and improve your quality of life,” he stated.

“I am directing the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs to promptly initiate the process for upgrading the Eneka traditional stool from second-class to first-class status.”

“A peaceful and united community facilitates the government’s ability to deliver meaningful development without internal conflict,” he added.
